+The ECHO project concluded with the creation of the pedagogical site "Entendre le théâtre" (Hear the Theatre), as part of the virtual educational expositions at resources and the [[http://classes.bnf.fr|Bibliothèque national de France]]. The site attempts to tell the story of the major changes in French theatre over the second half of the 20th century that affected the way voices are heard. In the 1950s and 1960s, under the influence of radio, cinema and cabaret, French theatres explored new, more accessible ways of expressing dramatic texts, while research into the spoken word was being revived, as traditional poetic language was perceived as exhausted by the post-war generation. Inviting to a journey through numerous archives, it is organized in four courses covering also technical aspects, and first of all acoustic, of the representation, as the aesthetic and socio-political dimensions of the voice on stage, in particular its accents, or the purely auditory modes of existence of the theatre which develop at this period via the radio and the disc. The site also offers a series of interviews as well as listening experiences, offering additional insights.
